tools to ensure  you have everything you need to make your enrollment a success.

Important Open Enrollment Dates and Timeline

EXISTING PLANS
December 1, 2021 -New participant enrollments must be completed in order to ensure debit cards are delivered by January 1, 2022

NEW PLANS

October

Watch for email communications from Alerus regarding plan design, payroll confirmation, and carryover changes.

November

  • November 5, 2021 – If applicable, the relevant implementation handbook must be completed and received by Alerus.
    • FSA implementation handbook
    • HSA implementation handbook
    • Combined FSA/HSA implementation handbook
    • HRA implementation handbook
  • November 6, 2021 – If you offer an HRA and will be making any changes to your plan design your form must be received by November 6, 2021 to guarantee design changes are in place by January 1, 2022. Confirmation of HRA plan design is required to renew your plan year.
  • November 12, 2021 – Banking paperwork for FSA plans with debit cards must be submitted to Alerus.
  • November 26, 2021 – Electronic enrollment data must be submitted.

 

December

  • December 3, 2021 – In order to process new elections and guarantee cards for new participants by January 1, 2022, your enrollments must be received by December 3, 2021. Re-enrolling participant will continue to use their same debit cards.
  • December 10, 2021 – Banking paperwork for HSA plans must be received.

Important Information

• These dates need to be met to ensure debit cards are received prior to start dates. If these dates are not met, we can still implement plans for January 1, 2022 effective dates but employee debit cards may be delayed.

• All new groups and new HSA participants will need to use the new HSA enrollment form. Click to download the HSA Enrollment – Group Form Alerus
